Why should my shipping address match my billing address? How can I make this happen even when I have multiple addresses?
Why? Fraud is on the rise online and offline. When your shipping address matches your payment method's billing address, we can fast track your shipment because we know the person who is paying for this order will receive the order at one of their payment method's verified addresses. Otherwise, we may delay or even cancel your order if your shipping/billing addresses don't match AND/OR if the info you provide cannot pass our fraud prevention tests.
How? If you have your billing/shipping address on file with your card or PayPal account, then when we process your transaction we'll be able to automatically verify that you are asking us to ship to your billing address. Most people have one home address and that usually matches the billing address of their card (for example). However, if you have multiple addresses, it may be possible to add the other address to your card or PayPal account. See below for more on how to do this.
More Info: How To Add Another Address To Your Payment Card: If you call or login to your card issuer for any card you want to use, they may let you add the shipping address you want to the card's records as an alternate authorized address. Then when we run that card with that alternate billing/shipping address on it, your card issuer will tell us it matches. Your card issuer wants to help prevent fraud like the rest of us so let them help you!
How To Add/Change/Remove A Shipping Address On Your PayPal Account: Login to your PayPal account before completing your PayPal payment. Go to your PayPal account's settings/profile page to make the addition or change. Make sure the address you are asking us to ship to then actually shows up on the PayPal payment form before completing the payment. For help, click here or ask PayPal. PayPal wants to help prevent fraud like the rest of us so let them help you!
What If I Can't Do This Right Now? If you place your order without the billing and shipping address matching, we will run additional fraud prevention checks which can take some time. This may involve calling your card issuer or PayPal directly. It may also involve contacting you using information you provide in this order as well as any information we can find when we research your information with all publicly available data sources. If you are a company ordering for one of your locations that may not match your company headquarters's card billing address (for example), we may call your headquarters directly using publicly available information and/or we may call your boss directly to make sure this order is legit so we can approve this order for shipping. If it cannot pass our fraud prevention tests or if the tests take too long to complete, then we may further delay or cancel your order.
